This is a new course for September 2025 which can be taken as a half qualification (Certificate) or a full qualification (Extended Certificate). The course is a vocational music qualification with an emphasis on applied learning and is completed via four modules. On this course you will study both music performance and develop an understanding of the music industry.

What does the course involve?

The course is vocational with an emphasis on applied learning and is completed via four modules.  On this course you will study both music performance and develop an understanding of the music industry.

Year 1

  • Ensemble Music Performance
  • Solo Performance, Improvising Music or Music Performance Session Styles

Year 2

  • Practical Music Theory and Harmony
  • Professional Practice in the Music Industry

Transferable skills that you will develop on this course include cognitive and problem-solving skills; interpersonal skill such as communication, self-presentation and working collaborataively.  Âé¶¹¶ÌÊÓÆµ will also develop self management, adaptability and resilience.

What can you do after the course?

This course will support learners to develop skills and understanding to progress into a wide range of higher education courses and employment such as performing arts, music industry management or music performance.
